Just returned from another great weekend at this lovely hotel, stayed March 8th-11th for The 60,s Festival. We returned mainly to see The New Amen Corner who once again went down a storm, we absolutely love them. The other entertainment on offer The Beatmasters, The Everlys and Steve Taylor were all good, sadly The Trems not so good and they were a replacement for Ready Steady Girlz who for some reason didn't appear. We stayed in a very nice standard room with patio and had lovely views of the grounds, only downside, it was a walk to the ammenities but it didn't spoil our stay. Once again the food was lovely and it beggars belief that some people would complain about this. As usual the staff were lovely and work extremely hard to make sure you have a good time. We met and sat with some lovely people Phil and Maureen from Stafford im talking about you and others as well. To be perfectly honest our main reason when we return to a warners is that the entertainment has to be something we want to see, there not the cheapest of places to visit so we wouldnt pay just to see anybody but i can certainly recommend Alvaston for a visit. This was our 6th visit and we have not been disapointed yet.
We spent a very enjoyable weekend as part of a group of 23. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves although with so many of us this wasn’t difficult. I was a little apprehensive prior to arriving how the food in the ballroom would work, but I was pleasantly surprised that this was not a problem. Everyone knew their table for the weekend and once the meals were finished the area was cleared away quickly and there was no food smell at all. The food, as usual, was lovely and a good choice. The chefs work hard and all staff were really friendly and seemed to enjoy their jobs and couldn’t do enough for you. We enjoyed the Saturday night entertainment, hitsville, who were excellent. The entertainment on the other days was not so good and whilst the entertainment team worked hard on Sunday night with a night of the Jacksons, we were disappointed that there wasn’t much dancing by the team and no costume changes either. The disco was great and played everything we requested. Thank you.
